What you need to know about this position:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in procurement, international purchasing, import operations, logistics, or supply chain.
Practical experience in international shipment, freight, import, and customs coordination.
Knowledge of Incoterms, international payment terms, shipping documents, and import processes.
Experience in purchase-order follow-up, supplier communication, delivery planning, and coordination with freight forwarders or customs brokers.
Strong command of written and spoken English, sufficient to communicate effectively with international suppliers and logistics providers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for order tracking, quotation and cost comparison, reporting, and data analysis.
Experience with ERP systems; Oracle or/and SAP experience is preferred.
Strong ownership, follow-up, planning, and organizational skills.
Analytical and commercially minded, with an interest in developing toward category management.
Ability to manage multiple international orders, shipment priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Residing in or willing to relocate to Yalova, İzmit, or the Anatolian side of Istanbul.
No restriction on domestic or international travel.

Job Description

Execute and follow up the procurement processes for materials from order confirmation until final delivery to the plant, with a particular focus on international purchases and post-PO activities.
Follow up order confirmations, production readiness, shipment plans, estimated departure and arrival dates, customs clearance, and final delivery to the plant.
Coordinate international shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and relevant internal stakeholders.
Monitor potential supply risks and proactively coordinate mitigation actions to ensure uninterrupted raw material availability.
Obtain and compare freight quotations and support the selection of appropriate transportation modes and logistics providers.
Follow up and review import and shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other product-specific documents.
Proactively identify and resolve missing documentation, shipment delays, customs clearance issues, and potential demurrage, detention, storage, or supply continuity risks.
Maintain accurate order, shipment, customs, and delivery information in ERP systems and prepare regular open-order and delivery status reports.
Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, Finance, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply.
Support supplier performance monitoring based on cost, quality, delivery, service, and responsiveness.
Conduct market, supplier, price, freight, and cost-driver research for assigned raw material categories.
Participate in supplier sourcing, commercial comparison, negotiation, contracting, and cost-improvement activities.
Gradually assume commercial and strategic responsibility for assigned purchasing categories, including supplier portfolio, category risks, budgeting, and savings initiatives.
Ensure that all procurement, logistics, import, and customs-related activities comply with company procedures and applicable regulations.
