Product Engineer

About the Role

Coding Brains is hiring for one of its clients for a Product Engineer role. The position involves building and shipping reliable software and AI-powered products, working across frontend and backend systems, and delivering customer-facing features from concept to production in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces and customer-facing product experiences.
• Build scalable APIs, integrations, and full-stack workflows.
• Develop data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Build, test, and improve production AI/LLM-powered features.
• Collaborate with users and product stakeholders to improve the product.
• Maintain high standards for security, privacy, reliability, and performance.
• Take ownership of engineering decisions and deliver improvements quickly.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working at a high-performing engineering organization or equivalent high-bar startup.
• Degree from a top-25 Computer Science program.
• Hands-on full-stack product engineering experience with React, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, or genuinely equivalent technologies.
• Demonstrated ownership of shipped, customer-facing software.
• Strong technical fundamentals, product judgment, and career progression.
• Clear motivation to work in an early-stage startup environment.

Candidates with approximately 5+ years of experience are preferred. Exceptional candidates with 1–2 years may be considered if they demonstrate outstanding technical ability and experience.

Candidates applying for the New York position must have at least 5 years of experience and demonstrated leadership ability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering production AI/LLM products with measurable impact.
• Fintech or financial services experience.
• Strong customer empathy and product ownership.
• Experience working in agile, high-growth startup environments.

Work Location

This is a full-time, on-site position requiring five days per week in the office in San Francisco, CA, depending on the position.

Compensation and Visa Support

Annual compensation: $150,000–$300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

OPT candidates, H-1B transfers, and visa sponsorship are available, subject to applicable eligibility and hiring requirements.
