POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Engineer III is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Champion Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier’s success. Responsible for the successful completion projects which are broad in nature including defining project, setting goals, and communicating project to multidisciplinary teams. Work from sales requests, customer quote requests, Product Change Requests (PCR’s), New Item Releases (NIR’s) for cost reduction or functional enhancements. Checks drawings developed and drawn by others in the form of PCR’s and NIR’s. Assist manager in determining when samples may need to be fabricated to validate fit/function parameters and/or to send to customer for approval. Generate necessary shop drawings and assists, guides and mentors support personnel in design-related matters. Work with cross functional teams on cost estimating for quotes or to determine optimum design alternatives. Responsible for establishing installation instructions and identify safety-related issues including misuse of product (to ensure appropriate warnings are included). Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments. Ability to work and interact well with others. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS General industrial and manufacturing engineering functions as necessary. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Product design or engineering preferred. Experience: Minimum of 4 year of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Required Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Good written and oral communications. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency. Ability to make timely decisions. Average to above average PC Skills. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of design software and project management software. SPECIAL DEMANDS Some travel required.
