Orbital Critical Systems (CAF Group) a leading company in safety‑critical software for aerospace, defence and transport, is looking for Product Owner with a strong Systems Engineering background to join an international team working on the Eurodrone programme in Germany.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to next-generation airborne and ground mission systems, focusing on sensor management, mission-critical software and systems integration

What You Will Do

  • Own and maintain the product vision, roadmap and prioritized backlog for sensor management capabilities.
  • Translate operational requirements and stakeholder needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and technical deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineers, software developers, system architects and integration specialists.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Ensure requirements traceability, system integration, verification and validation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between mission systems, sensor-control functions and ground systems.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor delivery performance through KPIs, quality metrics and progress reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support the integration of mission-critical software and hardware capabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, technical teams and international stakeholders.

What We’re Looking ForNice to have

  • Required qualifications
    • Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
    • At least 5 years of experience in avionics, sensor-control systems, autonomous systems or other mission-critical platforms.
    • Proven experience as a Product Owner delivering complex hardware or software products.
    • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering, including requirements management, system architecture, integration and verification.
    • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management and stakeholder coordination.
    • Experience with sensor technologies such as RADAR, electro-optical systems, real-time data acquisition or control loops.
    • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, IBM DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB/Simulink and Git.
    • Familiarity with safety-critical systems, risk management and requirements traceability.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Fluent English (professional negotiation level).
    • German language skills.
    • Experience with Java, Linux, software integration or CI/CD environments.
    • Knowledge of DO-278C, IEC 61508, MIL-STD-882 or ARP4754.
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in aerospace, defence, UAV/UAS or military mission systems.
