About the Opportunity
Legion Technical Solutions (LTS) is seeking a talented Production Support Electrical Engineer to support a leading defense and aerospace technology organization in Tucson, Arizona.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, solving complex technical challenges, and working directly with manufacturing teams to keep critical hardware production moving forward.
In this role, you'll work with advanced electronic and electromechanical systems, identify and resolve hardware issues, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams to deliver effective solutions.
We're looking for a proactive problem-solver who can quickly assess technical challenges, develop actionable troubleshooting plans, and take ownership of issues through successful resolution.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical hardware issues involving complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs), electronic subsystems, and electromechanical systems.
- Diagnose hardware failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.
- Quickly assess production issues, determine root causes, prioritize corrective actions, and drive solutions to completion.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, design engineering, and supplier teams to resolve technical challenges and minimize production disruptions.
- Interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation to support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Prepare engineering change documentation, update technical drawings, and present change packages for review and approval.
- Analyze production defects, hardware failures, and yield data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate supplier issue resolution, support corrective action initiatives, and assist with technical Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Communicate troubleshooting plans, technical findings, and resolution status to cross-functional stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent qualifications.
- Typically 2–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, or debugging digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal electronic circuits, complex circuit card assemblies, and/or electromechanical systems.
- Experience using electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting electrical engineering activities in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Background in electronic circuit design, electro-optical subsystems, or electronic hardware fabrication and assembly.
- Experience with engineering analysis, simulation, and electronic measurement tools.
- Familiarity with hardware integration, system testing, failure analysis, and root cause corrective action (RCCA).
- Experience preparing engineering change packages and supporting configuration management processes.
- Knowledge of production yield improvement, defect analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience coordinating technical activities with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage technical issues from identification through final resolution.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?
The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. You enjoy getting into the details of complex hardware problems, using test equipment to identify failures, and developing practical solutions.
You'll succeed by combining strong technical troubleshooting skills with effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to take ownership of problems until they're fully resolved.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Work with sophisticated electronic systems supporting critical aerospace and defense technologies.
- Gain hands-on exposure to complex hardware, manufacturing processes, and multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialists.
- Make a direct impact on production efficiency, hardware reliability, and product quality.
- Enjoy a consistent first-shift schedule in Tucson, Arizona.
