Production Manager

Job Title: Production Manager Location: Kansas City, KS Salary: $105,000 - $135,000 Per Year + 15% Bonus + ESOP Benefits About the Role: New Heights Career Services is seeking a Development Production Manager for a leading steel foundry and casting plant. This key role involves working closely with the current Production Manager, learning the ropes, and eventually taking over upon their retirement. Responsibilities: Leadership Transition: Work alongside the current Production Manager to understand the operations and take over upon their retirement. Operational Management: Coordinate and supervise a team of 60 to 75 members, with 2 direct reports, to ensure quality production of pressure-poured steel components. Team Coordination: Collaborate with Production and Process Managers to plan and direct manufacturing operations efficiently. Maintenance Coordination: Work with the Maintenance Manager to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities. Manpower Planning: Plan and schedule workforce requirements to meet labor objectives. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain a safe working environment. Continuous Improvement: Implement cost-effective production operations and drive continuous improvements. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a technical or business discipline. Minimum of 5 years in Manufacturing Operations Leadership, preferably in metal foundry, casting steel, or machining operations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a proven track record in operational metrics, budget management, and cost-saving initiatives. Preferred: Experience with JIT, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, and professional certifications (Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean).
