Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.

Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of approximately 300 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and does not facilitate FIFO.

The Role

Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent the Project Geologist will be accountable for the scheduling of resources to achieve geology department objectives safely, on time, and within budget. The role will combine geological expertise with project coordination, stakeholder management, and field leadership. The project geologist role can be moved across the wider geology department based on business needs.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead and deliver exploration and resource definition programs, including drilling sampling and geological data collection.
• Maintain and validate geological databases, resource models and technical reporting.
• Manage contractors and field activities, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant project delivery.
• Monitor project performance, budgets and schedules to achieve operational objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support exploration, resource growth and mine planning.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to geologists and field staff.
• Promote a strong safety culture and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Person

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

· Bachelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent

· Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Geologist

· Diamond core logging and regional exploration experience required

· Skilled in geological interpretation using Micromine or Leapfrog

· Strong analytical and report writing skills

· Well-developed verbal and written communication skills

· Work well interacting across multiple teams

· Exposure to Gold/Antimony is desirable
