Show job description

At PayDepot, we build several B2B and B2C fintech products, including payment infrastructure, crypto services, and financial platforms. One of our products, WinnerPay, is a payment service provider that helps merchants accept and send payments across Africa, Asia, and the CIS via cards, alternative payment methods (APMs), and crypto.

We are growing rapidly and are looking for a Product Owner to join the WinnerPay team and drive the product end to end, from backlog management to product metrics.

What you'll do

  • Own the WinnerPay product backlog: shape it, prioritize it, and defend priorities with stakeholders.
  • Evolve the PSP core: pay-ins, payouts, refunds and chargeback handling, provider routing and cascading, and onboarding new acquirers.
  • Expand our APM coverage: choose and launch local methods (mobile money, UPI, QR payments, e-wallets and bank transfers) based on merchant demand and unit economics.
  • Own key metrics: approval rate, checkout conversion, transaction speed and cost, chargeback ratio.
  • Write clear requirements and user stories, accept the dev team's output, and run Scrum ceremonies (planning, PBR, demo, retro).
  • Work with merchants and business development: gather requests, turn them into product decisions, and support onboarding of key clients.
  • Partner with compliance team on merchant KYB, transaction monitoring.
  • Develop the merchant dashboard, API and integration documentation.
  • Track the market and competitors, and propose new products and directions.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years in a product role (Product Owner/Product Manager), including 2+ years in payments: PSP, acquiring, payment gateway, bank or fintech.
  • Solid grasp of card payment flows: authorisation, 3DS, tokenisation, refunds and chargebacks.
  • Hands-on experience with APM flows: redirects, asynchronous statuses and refund handling for methods that don't support native refunds.
  • Hands-on experience with settlement and reconciliation: matching provider reports against internal transactions, resolving discrepancies, and handling fees, rolling reserves and merchant payouts.
  • Hands-on experience with payment provider integrations and APIs (REST, webhooks); able to read technical docs and speak the developers' language.
  • Experience with Scrum/Kanban; confident with Jira and Confluence.
  • Comfortable with data: basic SQL and BI tools.
  • Fluent English (B2+) for documentation and partner communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with local payment methods in Africa, Asia or CIS.
  • Understanding of fraud prevention and risk management in payments.
  • Experience with crypto payments and stablecoins.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS and AML/KYB requirements.

What we offer

  • Full relocation support and working visa sponsorship
  • Competitive salary
  • Days off when you need them

What awaits you

  • Working in a small and fast-paced Scrum team
  • A practical role where you can influence how we work with data
  • No bureaucracy - we focus on practical solutions and common sense
  • Pleasant colleagues and a healthy internal culture
  • A non-toxic environment with respect for work-life balance (we turn off Slack during vacations)
