Descriptif du poste

Vulcain Engineering, an international engineering consultancy, supports global industrial leaders in their transition to a more responsible and sustainable future. We support our customers in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of their complex infrastructure projects that will shape the world of tomorrow. With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients’ most complex challenges.

In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Position: Quality Management Lead

We are seeking a Quality Management Lead to support the successful delivery of HPC / Sizewell C projects. You will act as the key point of contact for quality across a defined package of works, ensuring the supply chain delivers in line with strict quality requirements across the full project lifecycle.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Quality Management Lead will include:

  • Ensure supply chain compliance with contracted quality assurance and quality control requirements
  • Develop and implement Project Quality Control Plans and surveillance strategies
  • Review and monitor contractor Quality Assurance Plans and Inspection & Test Plans
  • Conduct supplier audits and manage findings through to resolution
  • Oversee manufacturing and construction surveillance activities, including inspections
  • Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as the “Intelligent Customer” for all quality-related activities across the supply chain
  • Collaborate closely with programme teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver consistent quality outcomes

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality is embedded across all stages of delivery, from design and procurement through to construction and commissioning, helping to deliver one of the UK’s most important infrastructure projects.

Profil recherché

Alongside a commitment to our values, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following essential skills and experience:

  • Strong experience in quality management within major infrastructure or safety-critical projects
  • Proven background in QA/QC across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction
  • Experience working with supply chains, including auditing and performance management
  • Ability to review and implement quality documentation such as ITPs and QA plans
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Degree/HNC/HND in engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience within the nuclear sector or highly regulated industries (desirable)
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to influence, challenge, and drive improvements
  • Reside locally to Sizewell C or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).

We offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background. Whether you're earlier in your career or bring more senior-level expertise, we encourage you to apply if this role aligns with your skills, or if you're open to discussing other opportunities within this discipline.
