Who We Are:
Catalyx is a machine vision and automation company that integrates technology and people to help global manufacturers and logistics companies achieve next-generation levels of quality and throughput. For over thirty years, the minds behind Catalyx have been at work maximizing operational processes across highly regulated industries by inventing new technology applications and supporting companies with technical experts. The Role:
Catalyx is a trusted partner in delivering world-class lifecycle services to regulated and high-risk end markets. With a relentless commitment to innovation and excellence, we partner with life science and other highly regulated organisations, to empower them to enhance efficiency, and drive success. As part of this commitment, we are continuously developing our on-site teams to support the advancement of customer operations.
As Quality Manager, you will provide dedicated quality leadership across our customer’s manufacturing and site-based operations, taking ownership of product quality from raw material to finished frame, panel, and module. The business is at a critical growth stage — increasing production volume, expanding its project portfolio, and scaling operational complexity. You will be central to ensuring that growth never comes at the cost of quality, compliance, or client outcomes.
Depending on experience, this role may be appointed at Quality Manager or Quality Lead level.
This is not a desk-based role. It is a performance role. You will be on the production floor every day, using data, process discipline, and practical leadership to drive first-time-right delivery and a quality system that production teams actually use.
Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management System
Own and maintain the Quality Management System across factory and site operations, aligned with ISO 9001.
Maintain Factory Production Control and the documentation for product certification and CE marking, including I.S. EN 1090 and NSAI Agrément where applicable.
Drive consistent use of digital systems (WRXFLO, ACC, ERP) for traceability and real-time quality visibility.
2. Production Quality Control
Establish and run inspection and test plans at every stage, from incoming materials to pre-dispatch.
Be on the production floor daily across both shifts, carrying out in-process checks and supporting supervisors and team leads.
Manage calibration of measuring and test equipment, and drive a first-time-right culture that reduces rework and defects.
3. Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement
Manage the non-conformance process end to end, from recording and containment through to close-out.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA/8D) and CAPA, driving sustained resolution of recurring defects.
Lead continuous improvement activity with production, using Lean tools where they add value.
4. Project Quality & Handover
Ensure units and site works meet client specifications, building regulations, and applicable standards.
Compile handover documentation for each project, including inspection records, material certificates, traceability, and BCAR sign-off records.
Manage client quality queries and warranty issues, feeding site feedback and defects back into factory, design, and logistics processes.
5. Design & Supplier Quality
Work with Design & Engineering to ensure drawings, tolerances, and specifications are clear and buildable, supporting DfMA improvements.
Manage supplier quality, including incoming material inspection, mill certificates, and supplier non-conformances.
6. Auditing, Reporting & Leadership
Keep the business audit-ready through planned internal audits and preparation for client, certification body, and regulatory audits.
Report quality KPIs, including non-conformances, rework, defects, and cost of poor quality, to the CEO and senior leadership team.
Develop quality training and competency sign-off for production staff, and support supervisors to take ownership of quality.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality roles within manufacturing, construction, or a similarly structured production environment (3 years for appointment at Quality Lead level).
A degree or diploma in Quality, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline — or equivalent experience that clearly demonstrates competency in the role.
Hands-on experience of in-process inspection, inspection and test plans, and non-conformance management on a production floor.
Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management System implementation in repeatable production settings.
Experience in structured root cause analysis (RCA/CAPA/8D).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
Confident using data and reporting systems to drive decisions and track performance.
A practical, hands-on approach, with the confidence to challenge and influence at both shop floor and leadership level.
Desirable
Experience in light gauge steel, steel framing, offsite construction, modular building, or modern methods of construction (MMC).
Knowledge of I.S. EN 1090, Factory Production Control, and CE marking.
Familiarity with BCAR, NSAI Agrément, or similar certification in Ireland.
Lean or Six Sigma qualification, or a demonstrable track record in continuous improvement.
ISO 9001 internal or lead auditor qualification.
Experience with ERP and QMS digital platforms.
