Quantum Success Engineer | Delft | €70,000–€80,000 + Benefits
If you’re an experimental quantum physicist who enjoys being close to the hardware but also wants to work more directly with people, this could be a very interesting next step.
I’m working with a fast-growing quantum technology company in Delft that is expanding its Quantum Success Engineering team.
This is not traditional Customer Success.
You’ll work directly with research teams using advanced quantum-control hardware, helping them get their experiments up and running, solve technical issues and get the best possible performance from their systems.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support customers across the full technical journey, including:
• Installing, configuring and integrating quantum-control hardware
• Supporting researchers with complex experimental troubleshooting
• Working across qubit control, calibration, RF/microwave systems and cryogenic setups
• Delivering technical onboarding and training
• Helping customers diagnose measurement and system-performance issues
• Acting as the technical bridge between customers, product teams and R&D
• Capturing feedback that directly influences future product development
• Travelling to customer laboratories across Europe when required
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have a background in experimental quantum physics or quantum engineering, with hands-on experience around real laboratory systems.
Relevant experience could include:
• Superconducting qubits, spin qubits or other experimental quantum platforms
• Quantum measurement and control
• RF / microwave instrumentation
• AWGs, VNAs, signal generators, mixers or similar lab equipment
• Cryogenic systems / dilution refrigerators
• Qubit characterisation, calibration or readout
• Python for experiment automation, measurement or data analysis
• Electronics, control systems or embedded hardware
A PhD in experimental physics would be highly relevant, although strong MSc candidates with commercial quantum-hardware experience will absolutely be considered.
Experience in Applications Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, Field Applications, Technical Support or working directly with research customers would be particularly valuable.
The important part
They are not simply looking for the strongest physicist in the room.
They need someone who genuinely enjoys helping researchers solve problems, can explain complex technical concepts clearly and is comfortable taking ownership when an experiment or system isn’t behaving as expected.
Delft, Netherlands — hybrid, typically 3 days onsite
€70,000–€80,000 depending on experience
Relocation / visa support available where required
European customer travel
If you’re currently working in quantum research, quantum hardware, applications engineering or experimental physics and want to move into a role where you can combine deep technical work with real customer impact, I’d be keen to speak.
Drop me a message or apply directly and I’ll happily share more details confidentially.
