Competitive remuneration + equity options | Part Time, 1-2 days a week | Clayton, Melbourne VIC

Report X-ray, ultrasound and CT, and perform CT-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures at Scope Radiology in Clayton, with equity options available.

Scope Healthcare is a specialist cardiac, sleep and respiratory group across Greater Melbourne, and we're now moving into radiology with Scope Radiology at M-City in Clayton. The group includes Heartscope, one of Melbourne's largest cardiac diagnostic providers with over 15 locations, and Sleepscope, which provides sleep and respiratory testing and consultations.

We're looking for a radiologist to join Scope Radiology part time, one to two days a week. Reporting covers X-ray, general and obstetric ultrasound, and CT. Radiologists with CTCA accreditation can also report CT coronary angiograms.

Procedures

The procedures you perform will depend on your experience. Under CT guidance, they can include:

  • Facet joint, nerve root sleeve, epidural, sacroiliac joint, pars defect and sacrococcygeal joint injections.
  • Medial branch and pudendal nerve blocks, ganglion impar blocks and discograms.
  • Joint injections, including hyaluronic acid injections for osteoarthritis, and CT arthrograms.
  • Biopsies, including lung biopsies.

Under ultrasound guidance, they can include:

  • Joint, bursa, tendon sheath, direct tendon and carpal tunnel injections, and shoulder hydrodilatation.
  • Autologous blood and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
  • Nerve blocks, including greater occipital nerve, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, stellate ganglion, and brachial and lumbar plexus blocks.
  • Fine needle aspirations and core biopsies, such as thyroid, breast and liver biopsies.
  • Breast hookwire localisation before surgery.
  • Aspiration of joints and cysts, pleural taps and paracentesis.
  • FRANZCR, or a recognised equivalent.
  • Specialist registration in radiology with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA, in place before commencement.
  • A Victorian radiation use licence, or eligibility for one.
  • Experience reporting X-ray, general and obstetric ultrasound, and CT.
  • Competence in Tier A procedures under CT or ultrasound guidance.
  • Clear, timely reports and communication with referring GPs and treating clinicians.
  • Eligibility for the relevant Medicare provider numbers and appropriate professional indemnity cover.
  • CTCA accreditation would be highly regarded.
  • Equity in Scope Radiology. Equity options are available, with the terms discussed individually.
  • Weekday hours. Work one to two days a week, Monday to Friday, with no on-call.
  • Home reporting. We'll provide a workstation so you can report from home.
  • Relocation support. If you're moving to Melbourne, we'll help with the move.
  • Practice support. The Clayton practice already runs X-ray, ultrasound and CT, with radiographers, sonographers and reception staff in place.
  • Marketing and referrer outreach. Our marketing team promotes your profile and builds relationships with GPs and other referring clinicians.
