About our opportunity Please note this opportunity is available to current Australian Public Service employees and all eligible members of the community. Non-ongoing or temporary employment opportunities may be offered on a full-time, part-time or intermittent/irregular (casual) basis depending on business needs and requirements. Non-ongoing employment for a specified term may be offered for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility to extend for a further 6 months, for a total maximum period of 18 mont hs. About our team Irregular and Intermittent Employees (IIEs/Casual) are employed with the Australian Border Force (ABF) at the APS2 classification and assist frontline operational teams to meet peaks associated with the movement of people and goods across the border. II Es are predominantly required to work at international airports to alleviate pressure on existing teams during periods of increased flight departures and arrivals. They are also utilised to work in teams dealing with Maritime, Air Cargo, as well as general administration areas. The work undertaken is mainly outside of standard business hours as the ABF operates within a 24/7 operational environment. Roles at international airports may require the successful completion of on-site mandatory training prior to undertaking duties. Duties and responsibilities Provide basic administration support under guidance Operate basic information technology systems Develop and maintain effective and productive working relationships/partnerships Work as part of a team Additional information These roles are frontline roles which require officers to wear the ABF uniform and represent the ABF professionally in the public domain. Officers must be capable of interacting with members of the community and foreign visitors. Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
