• Midwifery Permanent Pool (NMWU): Enjoy permanent job security and contracted hours paired with complete clinical variety. Rotate across Joan Kirner and Bacchus Marsh birth suites, antenatal, and postnatal wards without getting stuck in a single silo.
• Continuity of Care Models: Walk alongside women throughout their entire pregnancy, birth, and postnatal journeys across low-risk and all-risk caseloads.
• Galinjera Maternity Program: Deliver culturally safe, transformative model-of-care continuity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
• Public Homebirth Service: Practice at the top of your scope, facilitating physiological birth within the comfort of women’s homes.
• International Pathways: Relocating to Melbourne? Full employer sponsorship and visa assistance are available for eligible internationally qualified midwives.

What You Bring

• Professional Credential: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (or international equivalence eligible for registration and visa sponsorship).
• Clinical Competence: A minimum of 18 months’ post-qualification experience within an acute hospital birth suite and intrapartum care environment.
• Philosophy of Care: A deep commitment to physiological birth advocacy, informed consent, and culturally safe practice.
• Collaborative Mindset: Strong, respectful interdisciplinary communication and the confidence to advocate effectively in diverse clinical scenarios.
• Standard Clearances: Valid Victorian Working with Children Check, National Police Record Check, and Immunisation Clearance prior to start.
