Role Overview: This position is for a registered nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating patient care, providing education, and supporting transitions of care across various settings. All newly hired RNs with less than 12 months of practice are automatically enrolled in a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program, and all new nurses receive extensive orientation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage direct patient care and support patient and family education.
  • Support professional nursing practice within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, ensuring effective planning, implementation, evaluation, and communication of care.
  • Provide leadership through mentoring, precepting, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Delegate patient care appropriately based on skill level, acuity, and resources.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and participate in committees or projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Student or graduate of a registered nursing program; baccalaureate degree in nursing required within five years for certain RN start dates.
  • Preferred 1 year of hospital RN experience, especially in Emergency Department.
  • Current MN RN license and BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Additional Details: The role is nonexempt, full-time, with a schedule of 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including every third weekend. Compensation ranges from $38.83 to $59.41 per hour, and the position is eligible for benefits. The role supports TN visa sponsorship, requiring licensure and certification completion.
