What You Will Be Doing

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care while contributing to the effective day-to-day operation of the ward.

You Will

  • Provide safe, evidence-based and person-centred nursing care to an allocated patient load.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Administer medications and undertake clinical procedures in accordance with your scope of practice and competency.
  • Recognise and respond to changes in patients' clinical conditions, escalating care appropriately.
  • Coordinate patient care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to Enrolled Nurses and other members of the nursing team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
  • Support the daily operations of the ward and contribute to effective patient flow.
  • Participate in quality improvement, education and professional development activities.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and contribute to a young and emerging team.

Ideally, You Will Have

  • A minimum of 12 months' clinical nursing experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • The confidence to work with an appropriate level of autonomy while knowing when to escalate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, supportive and team-focused approach.
  • The ability to provide clinical leadership and support to colleagues.
  • A commitment to safe, person-centred care.
  • A willingness to continue developing your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • The flexibility to work across different clinical areas within the facility and nearby facilities as required.

Experience or competency in venepuncture and cannulation is highly regarded. If you don't yet have these competencies, you will be supported to work towards achieving them.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 12 months' clinical nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe, high-quality and person-centred nursing care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to work across different clinical areas and nearby facilities as required.

How You Will Be Supported

You won't be expected to navigate rural nursing alone. You will be supported by an onsite Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), with a comprehensive orientation period to help you settle confidently into the role.

Additional Information

  • Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
