(pro rata) plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits – RN1 Temporary and Ongoing Full-Time and Part-Time Positions, up to 15 August 2027 (Multiple Positions) About the Role: NALHN is one of South Australia's major metropolitan health networks, serving the growing communities of Adelaide's northern suburbs. The Division of Surgical Specialties and Anaesthesia (DSSA) is seeking passionate Registered Nurses to join our busy and highly skilled surgical wards. LMH surgical wards each have main specialty groups: 2B - UGI, Gastroenterology, Breast/Endocrine and General Surgery 2C - Orthopaedics 2E - Colorectal and major Urology 2FX - Short stay patients such as ENT, minor Urology and General Surgery 2G - Acute Surgical Unit Modbury Hospital wards include: 1 East - mixed surgical ward including Orthopaedics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology and Gynaecology Your Role in Our Surgical Wards Joining the surgical nursing team at NALHN, you'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across a diverse range of surgical specialties. Day to day, you can expect to: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care, including patient assessment, monitoring, and discharge planning Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, timely patient flow across surgical wards Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold NALHN clinical standards and safety protocols Support and mentor junior nurses and students, fostering a culture of learning and shared accountability What You'll Bring Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with no conditions or restrictions Experience in an acute surgical or medical/surgical ward setting Demonstrated ability to prioritise care and respond effectively in a fast-changing clinical environment Strong communication and handover skills, with a commitment to patient safety Familiarity with SA Health clinical documentation systems and standards, or a clear ability to adapt quickly A genuine commitment to person-centred care for the diverse communities of northern Adelaide To be eligible for this position, you must be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. About You: In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role. Mental Health Services – Adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings. Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – Provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites. Primary Health Care Services – Including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
