Shift : Multiple Shifts Available · Day (with possible call and weekend rotation) · Evening (with possible call and weekend rotation) · Night (with possible call and weekend rotation) Work Arrangement : On-Site Department : Adult and Pediatric Sleep Lab Compensation : · Base Pay Range: $25.32 - $39.99 per hour, based on experience · Shift Differentials: o Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shift o Additional $4.00 per hour for night shift o Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shift · Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 o Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away o Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 o Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 · Note : Details will be provided during the HR interview. ABOUT THE JOB MU Health Care is looking for a dedicated Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team and make a significant impact on our patients' well-being. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and compassionate professional who possesses exceptional technical skills and a deep commitment to improving sleep quality. In this role, you will independently operate complex medical equipment to perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms, providing vital insights into sleep/wake physiology. Working closely with other medical team members, you will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, ultimately helping patients achieve healthier and more restful lives. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION · Explain test procedures to patients prior to the studies and provide for psychological needs while in the sleep center to obtain quality test results. Differentiate the quality of procedure and patient cooperation for interpretive analysis. · Record and score sleep/wake results. · Collaborate with physicians, informing them of patients’ psychological status and environmental conditions during procedures for consideration in the physician’s interpretation of test results. · Adapt test methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal patient results. · Clean, calibrate and process sleep equipment and sensors. Report all equipment and supply needs to leadership. · Recognize medically emergent situations and take appropriate actions. · Complete necessary documentation and billing. · Perform limited office, secretarial, and patient transport duties. · Meet all Patient Family Centered Care standards and patient experience goals. · Mentor Polysomnographic Technicians and assist leadership with new hire onboarding and training. · May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · Registration in one of the following: o Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM); or o Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT); or o Sleep Disorders Specialty (CRT-SDS) or (RRT-SDS) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Associate's degree in a science or health related field. · Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
