RF & Signal Processing Engineer

We are supporting our client in the unmanned aerial systems industry in their search for a RF & Signal Processing Engineer.

Mission

As a Senior RF & Signal Processing Engineer, you will develop end-to-end RF sensing capabilities, from antennas and raw IQ data to signal detection, classification and geolocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define RF sensing architectures covering sensitivity, bandwidth, timing, dynamic range, storage and SWaP-C.
• Select and integrate antennas, RF components, SDRs, receivers, timing sources and edge-compute hardware.
• Develop signal-processing pipelines.
• Characterise and classify signals based on frequency, bandwidth, modulation and activity.
• Develop direction-finding and geolocation methods using techniques such as AoA, TDOA, FDOA and coherent sensing.
• Create calibration methods for gain, frequency, phase, timing and antenna effects.
• Integrate position, attitude and timing data into repeatable localisation solutions.
• Build data pipelines, visualisation tools and structured RF datasets.
• Perform laboratory and field testing against known signals and ground truth.

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Signal Processing, Applied Physics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in RF sensing, SDR development, signal processing or related technologies.
• Experience developing sensing or geolocation capabilities from concept through testing and demonstration.
• Strong RF and DSP knowledge.
• Strong Python and C/C++ skills; MATLAB, FPGA, GPU or real-time DSP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of timing, phase coherence, antenna effects and geolocation geometry.
