Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model. Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards. • Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.
• Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
• Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care. Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign on bonus in addition up to $10,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule: 40hrs/wk- variable schedule per volume and unit needs- usually 8hr or 9hr shifts- TBD during interview with unit manager

Call required-one 24-hour shift and one 12-hour shift every 4–6 weeks, plus one Friday every 4-6 weeks

# beds: 2 rooms ran consistently for procedures and a third for backup / Cases/day (average): 20-30—end of day is when cases are done

1RN and one tech , GI Physician and anesthesiologist in procedure roomsRNS will be doing preop, post op, PACU+

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement
• One (1) year of clinical RN experience
• RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Specialty Certification

• Previous GI experience highly preferred

• Previous Leadership/Charge/Coordinator experience preferred

Where You’ll Work

As an RN Clinical Coordinator for the GI Lab at Penrose Hospital, you will oversee daily unit operations across three procedure rooms, supporting a high-volume environment that averages 20–30 cases per day. Working alongside a specialized team of technicians, GI physicians, and anesthesiologists, you will manage equipment and supply logistics while serving as the primary liaison between surgeons and staff to optimize procedure flow. This role focuses on service line efficiency, including the development of educational programs, staff competency training, and mentorship to ensure adherence to high practice standards. Additionally, you will coordinate staff assignments and provide support across the entire unit, including comprehensive nursing care for pre-operative, post-operative, and PACU phases.
