Overview
Our global enterprise client is in the early stages of a major, multi-year S/4HANA transformation and is strengthening its internal SAP capability for the long term.
To support this programme, they are hiring an internal SAP Authorization & User Access Management Specialist to take ownership of SAP authorizations, role design, user access processes and access governance across the landscape.
This is an internal ownership role focused on UAM, authorization concepts and role architecture rather than SAP Basis administration. You will work closely with functional teams, internal IT stakeholders and external implementation partners to design and maintain a secure, scalable and compliant authorization framework as the S/4HANA programme develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of SAP User Access Management and authorization processes across the SAP landscape.
- Design, develop and maintain SAP authorization concepts and role models.
- Lead role design, role redesign and authorization structure development for S/4HANA and wider SAP environments.
- Manage and improve user access processes, including provisioning, changes and deprovisioning.
- Support access governance, segregation of duties, compliance and audit requirements.
- Work closely with SAP functional teams to translate business requirements into appropriate roles and authorization structures.
- Support the definition and implementation of authorization standards across the global S/4HANA template.
- Coordinate with external implementation partners and challenge proposed solutions where necessary.
- Support access reviews, recertification activities and wider user lifecycle processes.
- Ensure authorization documentation, controls and processes remain consistent, scalable and compliant.
- Contribute to international rollout phases, go-live activities and ongoing SAP transformation projects.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong hands-on background in SAP Authorizations, SAP Security or User Access Management.
- Demonstrated experience designing SAP authorization concepts and role models rather than only administering existing users and roles.
- Strong knowledge of SAP user and role management, including PFCG and associated authorization processes.
- Experience with SAP access governance, role lifecycle management and user access processes.
- Good understanding of segregation of duties, audit and compliance requirements within SAP environments.
- Experience working with S/4HANA environments; Fiori authorization experience would be beneficial.
- SAP GRC Access Control experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders and external SAP implementation partners.
- Ability to take ownership of authorization topics and challenge requirements where appropriate.
- Strong communication skills in English; German language skills would be beneficial.
