Senior Accountant - Cost Denver, CO 80202; Logan, UT 84321 Apply Overview Salary Range $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Apply Description The Senior Accountant for Cost will be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. This position is based in Denver, CO or Logan, UT. This individual will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports. The Senior Accountant will review services and goods, record data, and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options. Senior Accountant Responsibilities: Gathers and compiles cost information and maintains database. Establish total labor hours for each operation for routings. Act as accounting liaison with the plants during month end physical inventories. Ensure daily production postings are flowing through the ERP system properly. Create any inventory and/or variance accounts. Analyze cost standards. Set up conversion factors. Review and analyze actual costs to identify inaccuracies. Review, analyze, and report actual profit margins. Perform month-end and year-end closings. Perform account reconciliations. Assists team in preparation of annual audits. Determine and recommend cost-effective solutions. Establish effective communication lines with other departments Set up Material, Labor, and Overhead cost standards for all RM, WIP, NV, and FG. Create monthly Gross margin reports for each product. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.in Accounting or Business Administration. CPA, CMA is preferred. 4+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably with ingredient commodities or food manufacturing. Manufacturing experience mandatory. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with financial reporting and analysis. Acumatica experience a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. Ability to manage confidential information Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics. Specific skill set: equipment, systems, processes, auditing, etc. Requires flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team. Strong communication skills - both oral and written. High initiative with the ability to take processes to the next level. Working Conditions: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Frequently use hands, arms, and fingers for high volume of typing, etc. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
