Chevron is accepting online applications for the position through November 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Oil, Products & Gas (OPG) Law is a global legal organization within Chevron's Law Function, with leaders and teams across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.

We are looking for a Senior Advisor to be the strategic right hand to the Vice President & General Counsel, OPG. The role turns leadership priorities into programs, communications and operating improvements, and runs the business of OPG Law: people processes, budget, communications, AI initiatives and strategic planning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executive communications, organizational change and talent programs, as well as budget and spend governance, workforce data, contracting centralization, and other process improvement and efficiency projects across OPG Law. The right person moves comfortably between advising senior lawyers on priorities and executing projects.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Leadership and strategy

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the VP & GC on priorities, workforce planning and long-term strategy.
  • Plan and run monthly LT and People Development Committee (PDC) meetings: agendas, desired outcomes, pre-reads, speakers and action tracking.
  • Organize OPG Law Leader Calls and other Law Leader Meetings, including planning, logistics and execution.
  • Build the OPG Law business plan story, strategic plan materials and leadership briefings for the Law Function and enterprise leadership.

Communications and change management

  • Draft executive communications: OPG Law-wide messages, talking points, personnel announcements, and any other messaging and engagement required.
  • Coordinate engagement sessions between senior leaders and teams across locations.

Talent and culture programs

  • Facilitate logistics for all personnel development committee (PDC) actions with the LT: performance management goal setting and year-end assessments, development program nominations, expat assignments, promotions and PDC meeting pre-work.
  • Facilitate logistics for all personnel programs: all logistics, job positions, candidate selection with the LT, internal and external communications, onboarding and program review.
  • Champion recognition, retirements and OPG Law events (local and global) that strengthen culture across global teams.
  • Lead Diversity & Inclusion across OPG Law through Regional D&I Teams, including the web page and Teams Channel.

Legal Operations Responsibilities:

Finance, spend and governance

  • Manage the OPG Law business plan and budget cycle with Finance: forecast and bill plan, cost center structure and allocations. Collaborate with OPG Law Leadership Team, Finance, and others in OPG Law to ensure accurate budget and business plan execution.
  • Oversee spend and budget planning and approve invoices within delegated authority with respect to various programs managed by VP&GC, OPG.

Workforce data and HR partnership

  • Keep Workday data, positions and org charts accurate; produce monthly headcount, open requisition and contractor reporting for OpCom and enterprise programs, in coordination with HR.
  • Manage the contractor portfolio (tracker, validation, costs, expirations and work orders) and coordinate backfill and hiring timing with HR.

Legal technology, AI and knowledge management

  • Assist the VP & GC in creating and executing the OPG Law AI strategy: AI Champions network, AI Hub and prompt library, Copilot and foundational AI training, and pilots of legal AI tools, with clear success measures and licensing recommendations, all in close coordination with Law Function initiatives.
  • Maintain the OPG Law SharePoint sites and knowledge resources.
  • Manage legal technology evaluations of interest to OPG Law.
  • Represent OPG Law in the legal operations community, manage benchmarking and facilitate best practices.
  • Lead OPG Legal Operations team.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience across chief of staff and legal operations roles.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information and organizational matters.
  • Track record running cross-functional programs with senior leaders.
  • Budget management and financial acumen; comfort working with Finance on forecasts, allocations and approvals.
  • Strong executive writing and the ability to turn complex information into clear messages and decisions.
  • Working knowledge of legal technology (CLM, matter and spend management, AI tools) and of Copilot, Workday, and Microsoft tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD or advanced degree in law or business.
  • Experience in a large and or global legal department.
  • Project management or Lean certification.
