About the Role

Join the applied AI team at a venture-backed enterprise AI software company to build the systems layer behind a process intelligence platform. You will turn messy enterprise data into useful, measurable, and reliable AI-powered product experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain production AI services and pipelines, including retrieval, context construction, structured extraction, orchestration, and model provider selection.

  • Develop evaluation datasets, benchmarks, regression tests, guardrails, and fallback paths to measure and improve AI quality.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production behavior, addressing latency, cost, reliability, and failures.

  • Work across the full pipeline from raw customer data to generated outputs, incorporating customer feedback into product improvements.

  • Take ownership of projects from design and implementation through deployment, measurement, and ongoing monitoring.

What We're Looking For

  • Four to ten years of applied AI, ML, or software engineering experience, including sustained ownership of customer-facing production systems.

  • Strong Python skills, experience with asynchronous services, and hands-on integration of hosted LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Cohere.

  • Experience with RAG, retrieval, vector search, embeddings, context construction, or agent orchestration, plus AI evaluations or CI/CD for AI/ML systems.

  • Proficiency with production software engineering and familiarity with tools such as Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, React, TypeScript, GCP, Terraform, Docker, or Datadog.

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, and experience delivering product improvements based on customer feedback.

  • Systems thinking, clear communication, and a pragmatic approach to shipping, technical debt, and ambiguous product problems; multimodal or enterprise workflow experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $180,000 to $275,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Remote within the United States, with San Francisco, California as the primary location.
