JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
- Develop and maintain embedded control software for energy electronics and engine control applications.
- Design, code, test, and debug embedded systems using C/C++.
- Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting of control systems.
- Support model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Analyze system requirements and implement embedded software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve software-related issues during development and testing.
- Support software releases, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain embedded software for engine control and energy electronics applications.
- Design, code, integrate, test, and debug embedded systems using C/C++.
- Support model-based software development using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Analyze software requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
- Perform software validation, verification, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and controls engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Investigate and resolve software defects through root cause analysis.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and development records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality, reliability, and performance.
- Participate in software reviews, integration activities, and product development milestones.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development for automotive, industrial, or energy electronics applications.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++.
- Experience in embedded software development, integration, testing, and debugging.
- Knowledge of embedded control systems and real-time software applications.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Model-Based Development (MBD).
- Experience with software validation, verification, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with CAN, J1939, and other embedded communication protocols.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, requirements management, and version control.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Knowledge of automotive, engine controls, or energy electronics systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with automotive, engine controls, or energy electronics systems.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Development (MBD) methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with CAN/J1939 communication protocols and diagnostics.
- Experience with embedded software architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Understanding of software validation, verification, and quality processes.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and version control tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Experience with continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
