Senior Engineering Manager

About the Role

Lead a core engineering team building AI products that turn complex tax documents into reliable structured data. This is a hands-on player-coach role combining technical contribution, people leadership, and close collaboration with tax professionals and customer-facing teams.

What You'll Do

• Manage and develop a team of 4 to 7 senior, staff, and principal engineers, with plans to grow the team.

• Stay technically active by writing code, reviewing designs, and debugging challenging problems.

• Ship customer-facing, evaluation-driven AI products for document processing and data extraction.

• Coach engineers on technical and product judgment, provide direct feedback, and support their growth into leadership roles.

• Own hiring, onboarding, and team development as the engineering organization scales.

• Connect engineering decisions to business outcomes and work with domain experts to make effective product decisions.

What We're Looking For

• 10 or more years of engineering experience, including experience leading and developing senior technical teams.

• A hands-on engineering leader who can contribute to production code and guide design decisions.

• Experience with Python, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure, document AI, agentic systems, or retrieval-based systems.

• Experience building AI or data products, ideally involving complex documents, tax workflows, or enterprise customers.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $415,000 to $450,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
