The role

You’ll be a core early engineering hire building a production platform end-to-end. You’ll write idiomatic Go, ship a modern React frontend, and design systems that put LLMs to work in production — making architectural calls, living with the results, and iterating based on how things perform in the real world and what customers tell you.

What you’ll be doing

Own features end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring
Build and operate reliable backend systems in Go and Python
Build and maintain a modern React/TypeScript frontend
Design and ship production systems that integrate LLMs (orchestration, tool calling, context management, evals)
Work directly with the founding team and iterate on features from direct customer feedback

Tech stack: Go, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, React 19 + TypeScript, GCP, Terraform, Docker, Datadog, GitHub

Requirements

5–10 years of full-stack software engineering experience, with real strength in a typed language (Go preferred), Python, and React/TypeScript
A track record of shipping production services with concrete, verifiable contributions across the stack and sustained ownership of meaningful systems
Hands-on experience building production systems that integrate with LLMs (real systems, not just prototypes), with a working grasp of patterns like orchestration, tool calling, context management, and evals
Solid PostgreSQL depth — schema design, migrations, and production operations
Proven experience iterating on features from direct customer feedback, with strong written and verbal communication
A pragmatic engineering mindset (knowing when to refactor vs. ship, build vs. buy) and a track record of leading larger, high-impact projects
A genuine understanding of what it takes to be a founding engineer in an early-stage environment
A BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (a top-30 CS program is a plus, especially earlier in your career)
Able to work on-site 5 days a week in San Francisco

Nice to haves

Early-stage startup experience, or a mix of big-tech and startup backgrounds
Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, GCP, Docker)
