Senior Health & Safety Specialist

Summary:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards and occupational health risks.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and workplace inspections to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence of injuries, illnesses, and near misses.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, injury trends, workers’ compensation data, and regulatory reporting requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections and serve as a liaison with health and safety agencies and external stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for teammates, contractors, and leaders.
- Support emergency preparedness, emergency response planning, and crisis management activities.
- Facilitate safety committees and engagement initiatives that promote teammate involvement and accountability.
- Lead projects and initiatives of diverse scope while working independently with limited supervision.
- Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives that enhance safety performance and operational effectiveness.
- Utilize advanced analytical and technical problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to existing processes and procedures.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive health and safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy-production environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance requirements.
Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Experience leading safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification programs.
- Knowledge of industrial ergonomics, machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and contractor safety programs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver safety training to teammates at all levels of the organization.
- Experience managing OSHA recordkeeping, injury and illness reporting, and regulatory documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with teammates, leaders, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and respond to off-shift safety incidents, emergencies, or audits as needed.
- Preferred Certifications Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
