This role manages the definition and adoption of integration architecture, standards, and patterns across APIs, event-driven services, middleware platforms (including ESB), and managed file transfer solutions (e.g., MOVEit), ensuring consistency, reuse, and scalability across the enterprise. Acting as a technical authority and point of reference, the job holder ensures that all integration solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, security and data protection requirements, and regulatory obligations, while supporting the Bank’s digital transformation and platform engineering strategy. The Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for driving technical governance and delivery assurance, overseeing complex integration initiatives, and ensuring that solutions are designed for resilience, observability, and operational stability in a critical banking environment. In addition, the role provides leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promotes adoption of modern integration practices (API-first, event-driven, and governed file transfer), and drives continuous improvement in tooling, automation, and DevOps capabilities to enhance delivery speed and quality.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for:

▪ Defining, maintaining, and promoting integration standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and engineering best practices across APIs, event-driven services, middleware platforms, and managed file transfer solutions.

▪ Designing and implementing secure, resilient, and high-performing integrations using modern integration patterns including synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, and file-based exchanges.

▪ Managing the design, governance, and optimization of API frameworks, API gateways, service contracts, and integration platforms to ensure security, performance, observability, and operational excellence.

▪ Defining and governing enterprise managed file transfer standards and architectures, including solutions such as MOVEit, ensuring secure and compliant data exchanges with internal and external stakeholders.

▪ Collaborating closely with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure integration solutions align with enterprise technology strategies and regulatory obligations.

▪ Reviewing and approving integration solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation approaches to ensure adherence to established standards and architectural principles.

▪ Ensuring integration solutions comply with the Bank's security frameworks, data protection requirements, audit obligations, operational resilience standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

▪ Leading root-cause analysis and resolution of complex integration issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents, while driving continuous service improvement initiatives.

▪ Defining and implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability standards to improve operational visibility, proactive issue detection, and service reliability.

▪ Providing technical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to Integration Engineers and other technology teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.

▪ Evaluating emerging technologies, integration platforms, and tooling opportunities, providing recommendations that support innovation, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of the Bank's integration ecosystem.

▪ Contributing to platform roadmaps, technology lifecycle management, and strategic integration initiatives to ensure the continuous evolution of the Bank's integration capabilities.

In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.
