Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java and Spring Boot applications and services that support corporate actions and complex investment data processing at scale
• Develop scalable, resilient APIs, microservices, and distributed solutions with a strong focus on accuracy, performance, and production reliability
• Own solutions end to end across the full engineering lifecycle, from technical design and development through deployment, monitoring, and production support
• Troubleshoot complex application and data issues, implement sustainable fixes, and proactively improve system stability and long-term maintainability
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to uphold engineering quality and delivery standards
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business partners while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers across the team

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Java and Spring Boot, including building production-grade APIs, microservices, and distributed systems at enterprise scale
• Deep understanding of software design principles, testing practices, performance optimization, and production reliability in complex system environments
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, with the ability to work confidently with complex investment and financial data structures
• Hands-on experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms, alongside familiarity with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka
• Proven ability to independently drive technical work, take end-to-end ownership of solutions, and contribute meaningfully to architecture and design discussions
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience in financial services, investment management, or capital markets considered a strong advantage

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed. Salary range: CA$95,000 - CA$140,000.
