Security Architect (Lead level) | Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi | Hybrid | Permanent

You have spent years protecting banks. Now shape how they build. A global digital engineering firm is growing its Vietnam security team and needs senior architects who decide how banking platforms are designed, not just how they are audited. You will work with top-tier banking clients across Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Australia, and your recommendations will carry weight with CIOs and CTOs. Three roles are open now.

What you will do

• Define security principles, conceptual and logical architectures and controls for banking solutions.
• Cover identity and access, data and media protection, SIEM, communications, configuration and vulnerability management.
• Assess proposed solutions against the group's information risk policy and risk appetite.
• Spot risks, threats and vulnerabilities in systems, applications and non-standard flows.
• Recommend alternatives and compensating controls where a design falls short.
• Influence senior sponsors, project leaders and technical teams so security shapes requirements from day one.
• Drive major architecture decisions through governance, including technology architecture forums.
• Build and refine reusable security reference patterns, and shape security in target-state architectures and roadmaps.
• Coach and mentor colleagues in security and risk practice.

What you will bring

Essential

• Banking security experience. Hands-on security architecture or design in a bank, or in a consultancy delivering for banks. International banking experience is a strong advantage. Experience limited to fintech or general financial services will not fit this role.
• 10+ years in technology, including 2+ years in security architecture, or 5+ years in solution architecture with significant security exposure.
• Hands-on knowledge of identity and access, data protection, SIEM, communications, configuration and vulnerability management.
• Proven ability to assess designs against risk policy and risk appetite, and to define controls and compensating controls.
• Solid grasp of security assurance, governance and compliance.
• Stakeholder influence and commercial sense, and comfort with difficult conversations with senior people.
• Excellent spoken and written English. You will present, negotiate and advise in English every day.
• A degree in computer science, information systems or an equivalent.
• Concrete examples of how you use AI in your daily work and what it achieved.

Nice to have

• CISSP or equivalent, SABSA, TOGAF, or cloud security certifications.

Open to relocation. Overseas Vietnamese and international candidates willing to move to Vietnam are welcome.
