Senior Legal Counsel - Crypto / DeFi

Our team brings together institutional finance experience, DeFi-native insight, and advanced analytics. We’re hiring a Senior Legal Associate who will report directly to the COO to manage legal, regulatory, and operational activities across the firm. This is a senior, cross-functional hands on role supporting fund regulation, compliance, commercial structuring, and strategic execution across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with leadership, team members and external partners to ensure Re7 operates with institutional-grade precision as we continue to expand globally. Responsibilities: Legal & Compliance Manage regulatory licensing and cross-jurisdictional legal structures. Challenge and support commercial deal structuring and negotiation. Ensure compliance across sales, marketing and corporate communications. Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of existing and new products. Handle legal entity governance, new structures, IP protection, and data privacy compliance. 5+ years of legal and operations experience within crypto, asset management or financial services Appreciation of digital assets and crypto-native legal frameworks Qualified lawyer or equivalent experience in a senior legal function Strong understanding of financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. FCA, CIMA, SEC, MiCA etc) Proven experience managing legal entity structuring, fund governance, and cross-border operations Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts Familiarity with offshore fund and asset management structures Experience working with external counsel and regulators Attributes: Able to operate effectively at a fast pace in highly complex and nuanced environments Strategic mindset, understanding commercial opportunities and turning into clear action plans Hands-on with a proactive ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude Effective in lean, high-performance teams Organised and able to manage multiple concurrent legal and compliance work-streams Able to take ownership of activities and project manage from start to finish Extensively able to use AI to improve efficiency Committed to innovation and process improvement Detail-orientated and risk-focused on commercial and reputational matters Clear communicator of complex legal & regulatory topics Collaborative team player Remote-first with freedom to drive impact and grow with the business (ideally within 3 hours of GMT/BST) Work with some of the smartest minds in DeFi - low-ego, mission-aligned, and results-driven Collaborative, fast-paced environment at the forefront of decentralised finance Opportunities to grow in a rapidly evolving industry Competitive package UK visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates
