Senior iOS Developer (SwiftUI / UIKit / Offline-first)
About the client
Our client is a global SaaS company building field service management software. Its mobile apps are used every day by field technicians who often work with poor or no connectivity, with teams across the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to design, maintain and evolve high-performance mobile applications. You will work on a codebase that combines SwiftUI and UIKit, take part in modernizing it, and build apps that keep working when there is no connection or the signal is weak.
What you'll do
- Design and implement features in SwiftUI and UIKit with clean, testable and scalable code.
- Integrate SwiftUI into UIKit screens and vice versa using UIHostingController.
- Optimize view performance by controlling what triggers view re-evaluation.
- Take part in refactors and code migrations, such as Storyboards/UIKit to SwiftUI.
- Apply dependency injection to decouple components and make testing easier.
- Implement local persistence and sync strategies for offline use.
- Build asynchronous flows with async/await and critically review AI-generated code.
- Work with product, design and QA, and take part in code reviews.

Requirements
Required
- Solid understanding of the SwiftUI lifecycle and what triggers view evaluation.
- Experience with UIKit and Storyboards.
- Experience on a mixed SwiftUI + UIKit project, including UIHostingController.
- At least one completed refactor or codebase migration.
- Working knowledge of dependency injection, including at least one common DI library and its purpose.
- Experience with local databases such as SQLite or GRDB, and/or a NoSQL solution.
- Experience building apps that work locally with poor or no connectivity.
- Regular use of AI tools in development and an understanding of their limits, especially with async/await.
- Advanced English.
Nice to have
- Advanced Swift Concurrency (actors, structured concurrency) and Combine.
- Testing with XCTest and UI tests, and mobile CI/CD experience.
- Data conflict resolution and sync strategies.
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store.
