ArcBee is looking for a highly experienced Senior MQ Systems Programmer with strong hands-on expertise in IBM MQ on z/OS for a long-term assignment in a business-critical financial infrastructure environment.
You will join a skilled mainframe infrastructure team responsible for the availability, security, maintenance and continuous modernization of the IBM MQ platform. This is a senior, hands-on role for a consultant who is comfortable taking technical ownership, working independently and collaborating with internal infrastructure teams, application teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Administer, maintain and support IBM MQ on z/OS in a production-critical environment.
Perform recurring MQ maintenance, including RSU/PTF maintenance and MQ version upgrades.
Install, configure and maintain MQ-related software using SMP/E.
Troubleshoot MQ platform incidents, assess technical impact and support root-cause analysis.
Manage MQ queue managers, channels, security settings and platform configuration.
Handle technical service requests and support internal and external stakeholders.
Manage the lifecycle of internal and external certificates used in MQ integrations.
Work with TLS/SSL, PKI, encryption, cipher specifications and MQ-related key management.
Contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge transfer.
Participate in modernization initiatives and continuous improvements across the mainframe infrastructure.
Required experience
Several years of hands-on experience working with IBM z/OS.
Proven senior-level experience as an IBM MQ on z/OS Systems Programmer.
Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting on z/OS.
Experience with SMP/E, including software installation, maintenance and lifecycle management.
Experience performing MQ RSU/PTF maintenance and version upgrades.
Strong knowledge of MQ security, TLS/SSL, PKI, certificates, ciphers and key management.
Experience renewing, replacing and maintaining internal and external digital certificates.
Ability to work independently, communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a complex enterprise environment.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred experience
Experience with z/OS Unix System Services (USS).
Broader systems-programming experience across z/OS, such as RACF, CICS, DB2 or system security.
Experience with IBM MQ on Windows or distributed MQ environments.
Experience from banking, financial services, clearing, insurance, telecom or another high-availability and regulated environment.
Availability for on-site or hybrid work in Stockholm.
