Senior Open Pit Production Engineer

Date: 29 Jun 2026 Location: Company: Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd Job Req ID: 69718 4/3, 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth Leadership opportunity Permanent role with exposure to world-class mines The Opportunity Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role is offered on a roster of 4 days on 3 days off and then 8 days on 6 days off. Both residential and FIFO options are available. You will lead a team and facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from surface mining operations. You will be responsible for all mining aspects, including the development and implementation of plans in line with planning targets. Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles. Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Supervision of the pit design process and subsequent plans to maximise recovery and minimise dilution. Develop, implement and record mine information to ensure safe and economic target delivery. Reconciliation of mined plan versus actual to identify improvement areas, along with End of Month reconciliation Actively mentoring, coaching, engaging with, and providing feedback to, the team, promoting a culture of collaborative delivery. What You’ll Bring Recognised Tertiary Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering, or a related discipline Team Supervisory experience Quarry Manager's Certificate is preferred Substantial open pit engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably gold Exposure to both contractor and owner miner environments Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and mining software such as Deswik About Gold Fields At Gold Fields, we believe great leadership is grounded in empathy, respect, and growth.
