Job Description

Our partner is looking for a Senior Power Delivery Engineer to own the power architecture for advanced compute hardware, from rack input through board level conversion to die level delivery.

This is a senior individual contributor role with architectural ownership. You will define the power strategy, design high current regulator solutions, and own control, protection and validation for demanding accelerator workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Own power delivery architecture from rack input to die

  • Define bus voltage, conversion stages and rail partitioning

  • Evaluate 12 V, 48 V and alternative power architectures

  • Design multiphase VRMs for high current core rails

  • Define phase count, magnetics, controllers and power stages

  • Design auxiliary rails, analog supplies and protection circuits

  • Own schematic design and power layout requirements

  • Define sequencing, telemetry and power control interfaces

  • Support PMBus, AVSBus and PWM VID control

  • Define transient, droop and voltage slew requirements

  • Own OCP, OVP, UVP and thermal protection strategy

  • Support hardware, firmware and BMC throttling behaviour

  • Validate efficiency, ripple, transient response and thermal performance

  • Work with power integrity teams on PDN impedance and decoupling

  • Coordinate with mechanical, thermal and component vendors

  • Automate validation and analysis where applicable

Requirements

  • 8+ years of power delivery design experience

  • Background in HPC, networking or other high current digital systems

  • Proven multiphase VRM design experience

  • Sub 1 V rails at several hundred amps or more

  • Strong DC DC conversion fundamentals

  • Control loop and compensation design experience

  • Magnetics selection and transient response expertise

  • Processor, GPU, ASIC or FPGA power delivery experience

  • PMBus knowledge

  • AVSBus, PWM VID or similar fast voltage control experience

  • Sequencing, protection and telemetry design

  • Power simulation and lab validation experience

  • Strong understanding of regulator and PDN interaction

Optional / Desired

  • 48 V direct conversion

  • Vertical power delivery

  • OCP rack power standards

  • ORv3 experience

  • High voltage DC distribution

  • NVIDIA OpenVReg familiarity

  • On die droop management

  • Adaptive clocking or throttling mechanisms

  • Python for automation and test analysis

  • EMC and conducted emissions experience
