Senior Product Manager - San Francisco

Major Scale is a boutique talent advisory. We work with early-to-growth stage tech companies, helping them build teams without the usual recruiting noise, hyperbole, or pressure. ​​​​​

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager for a fast-growing, venture-backed fintech startup in San Francisco. You’ll own a meaningful piece of a financial product from strategy through launch, work shoulder to shoulder with engineers and company leadership, and see your decisions reach customers quickly.

Experience in SaaS, working directly with product design and engineering, is a must.

• Location: On-site, 5 days a week in San Francisco
• Compensation: $180K - 210K base, plus equity. Some flexibility for exceptional candidates.
• Visa transfers are considered; you must be located in the US
  
  

What you’ll do

• Own the roadmap, metrics and outcomes for a defined product area, not just ship features
• Sequence and defend priorities within the direction set by product leadership
• Work with engineers daily, including debating technical tradeoffs
• Talk to customers regularly and turn their feedback into a plan you stand behind
• Partner with sales and leadership to unblock high-value customers and deals
• Use AI-native tools to prototype, move fast and shape the user experience
  
  

What we’re looking for

• 4-7 years of product management experience, ideally at a startup or growth-stage company
• Background in fintech, banking, payments, accounting or finance software, or AI-driven products
• Strong product judgment, and strong design sensibility for complex workflows
• Technical fluency and comfort working with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Replit) and modern product tools like Figma, Linear and Notion
• A high-agency, first-principles mindset: you thrive with ambiguity and take full ownership
• Excellent communication with customers, engineers and executives
  
  

Nice to have

• Experience with accounting, AP/AR or ERP integrations (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Sage)
• Experience with conversational, voice or agentic AI products
• Experience mentoring other PMs
