Catalyx is seeking a (Sr.) Project Scheduling & Controls Consultant to join our team and work on our customer site in Cork.

The (Sr.) Project Scheduling & Controls Consultant is responsible for the delivery of project scheduling, project controls, resource forecasting, governance reporting and schedule risk management services across the Technical Agenda portfolio within TDS.


The role is accountable for establishing and maintaining integrated project schedules, delivering portfolio planning and forecasting outputs, undertaking schedule and resource analysis, and providing project controls reporting to support effective portfolio execution and business decision-making.


The consultant will deliver defined scheduling and project controls services, including schedule optimisation, portfolio reporting, resource capacity analysis, governance reporting and schedule risk assessments, utilising Microsoft Project, Planview and other scheduling tools as appropriate.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and optimise integrated project schedules across the Technical Agenda portfolio.

  • Deliver planning, scheduling and project controls services using Microsoft Project, Planview and other relevant tools.

  • Produce and maintain project schedules, milestone plans, dependency mapping and critical path analyses.

  • Deliver resource capacity versus demand forecasting and utilisation analysis across the portfolio.

  • Generate schedule performance reporting, including Actual versus Planned reporting, schedule variance analysis, trend reporting and S-curve analysis.

  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and impact analyses, identifying risks, constraints and mitigation opportunities.

  • Deliver governance reporting packs, project status reporting and portfolio performance dashboards.

  • Develop and maintain project controls standards, scheduling methodologies, templates and reporting processes.

  • Provide schedule optimisation recommendations to improve project execution and portfolio performance.

  • Maintain portfolio-level risk and dependency registers and undertake associated impact assessments.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project scheduling, planning and governance processes.

  • Deliver project controls documentation, analysis and reporting outputs in line with agreed project and portfolio requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience delivering project scheduling and project controls services across technical or operational project portfolios.

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project, Planview and/or other enterprise scheduling software packages.

  • Significant experience supporting operational and technical development project portfolios.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver resource forecasting, capacity planning and demand analysis.

  • Experience developing portfolio reporting, governance frameworks and project controls methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including schedule risk and impact analysis.

  • Proven ability to present project controls insights, findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and project controls excellence.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong organisational and planning capabilities with a focus on delivering defined outputs and measurable outcomes.

  • PMP certification required.

  • Planview experience desirable.

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Project Management or a related discipline preferred.
