Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils) - Data Centres | Frankfurt, Germany

€80,000 - €90,000 + €10,000 annual living allowance + accommodation provided

Frankfurt is the largest data centre market in continental Europe, and one of Europe's leading construction and infrastructure contractors is expanding its commercial team there. We are hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of the civils packages on large-scale hyperscale data centre and mission-critical projects.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will sit within an established commercial team, responsible for the financial and contractual management of complex civil engineering packages from procurement through to final account. The projects are high-value builds for global technology clients, delivered to demanding programmes.

This is a permanent relocation, not a rotation. Accommodation is provided and a €10,000 annual living allowance is paid on top of salary, so the move is properly supported from day one.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Managing the commercial delivery of major civils packages - earthworks, drainage, utilities, reinforced concrete structures and structural steel
• Preparing monthly valuations, payment applications, CVRs and commercial reports
• Monitoring budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost performance, and flagging commercial risk early
• Managing variations, change control and contractual entitlement, and preparing and negotiating final accounts
• Running subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, procurement recommendations and subcontract negotiations
• Assessing subcontractor valuations and payment applications, and maintaining accurate commercial records
• Preparing cost plans and financial forecasts, and supporting value engineering without compromising programme or quality
• Working alongside Project Managers, Construction Managers and engineering teams, and presenting financial updates to senior management

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
• Minimum five years' commercial experience on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects
• Experience on data centre or mission-critical construction projects
• Proven subcontract procurement and commercial negotiation experience
• Working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or equivalent forms of contract
• Strong cost control, CVR and financial reporting skills
• Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt on a permanent basis

ALSO USEFUL

• Hyperscale data centre delivery experience
• International construction project experience
• MRICS, SCSI or equivalent professional membership
• Experience mentoring Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyors

WORKING PATTERN AND LOCATION
