Senior Scientist – Peptide Research & Oral Formulation

Job Requirements The Senior Scientist in Peptide Research drives early-stage peptide drug discovery, novel oral formulation design, and pre-clinical development within Novo Nordisk's Global R&D organization. This role focuses on optimizing peptide metabolic stability, evaluating permeation enhancer technologies for oral peptide delivery, designing extended half-life analogues, and leading candidate selection for clinical trials across metabolic and cardiometabolic target areas. Work Experience Education: PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peptide Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related biopharmaceutical discipline. Research Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-doctoral or biopharmaceutical industry experience specifically focused on peptide therapeutics, oral peptide delivery, or peptide formulation discovery. Scientific Expertise: Proven expertise in peptide drug discovery, non-injected/oral administration strategies, gut-permeable peptide design, and chemical stabilization techniques. Analytical & Characterization Skills: Hands-on proficiency with LC-MS, HPLC, biophysical characterization, permeation assays, and early-stage CMC candidate selection. Target & Modality Knowledge: Experience working with GLP-1 analogues, amylin novel molecules, macrocyclic peptides, or peptide-small molecule conjugates.
