Approximately 250 employees work here, utilizing the latest technologies and systems, capable of producing extensive, diverse, and innovative pet food products. Visalia is in California’s San Joaquin Valley and the gateway to Sequoia National Park, part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Responsibilities

The Senior Site Director leads operations and support functions for the Visalia manufacturing site, with accountability for people and food safety, operations, maintenance, quality, environmental practices, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, this leader turns business strategy into strong day-to-day execution while delivering performance within budget.

This is an opportunity to lead a complex site that supports private-label and co-manufacturing customers, manages frequent changeovers and small production runs, and responds quickly to new formulas and product innovation. Success requires a visible, hands-on leader who can develop talent, strengthen systems, and improve safety, service, cost, quality, and capacity performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the site with an unwavering focus on people safety, food safety, quality, environmental compliance, customer service, cost, and reliable execution.

• Create an engaging, accountable work environment where employees understand how their work connects to site and business strategy.

• Build and execute long-range site strategies, operating plans, labor and staffing plans, capital plans, and budgets.

• Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices that improve performance year over year and support PCB’s goal of being a low-cost producer of preferred products.

• Use daily production reviews, real-time feedback, and measurable performance indicators to identify constraints, correct issues, and sustain best practices.

• Optimize capacity across a complex manufacturing environment with frequent changeovers, varied ingredients, customer-specific formulas, and short production runs.

• Lead new product commercialization, equipment installation and commissioning, and the introduction of new processes while maintaining safety, quality, service, cost, and schedule commitments.

• Develop hourly and salaried talent through workforce planning, assessment, coaching, and clear accountability; hire, train, guide, and review plant leadership.

• Partner across functions and the broader manufacturing network to improve decision quality, balance capacity, and maintain customer service when production plans change.

• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements and support SQF food safety, food safety culture, and quality practices.

• Represent PCB with customers, community partners, government agencies, vendors, inspectors, and consultants as appropriate.

Why You’ll Love This Role

• Lead a high-impact manufacturing site with broad ownership across operations and support functions.

• Shape the next phase of a growing operation with opportunities to strengthen capacity, systems, and capital investment decisions.

• Work in a dynamic co-manufacturing environment where customer needs, innovation, agility, and operational discipline come together.

• Guide a strong team and develop the next generation of plant leaders across operations, engineering, safety, quality, supply chain, and continuous improvement.

• Make a visible difference with the resources of a large organization and the practical, hands-on culture reflected in PCB’s “Big company opportunity. Small company attitude.” employer brand.
