Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems

About the Role

Join a small engineering team building backend infrastructure for an AI-enabled radiology service. You will own core systems spanning data pipelines, warehousing, and distributed model inference, helping support healthcare services where reliability and responsible handling of sensitive data are essential.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure across data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed model inference on AWS.

• Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning across the stack.

• Build CI/CD and deployment automation that helps the team ship safely and efficiently.

• Design systems handling protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.

• Work with the ML team on infrastructure and model inference pipelines as priorities evolve.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in data infrastructure, backend engineering, or distributed systems, with production experience operating large-scale systems.

• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java, and hands-on experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform.

• Depth in data infrastructure, including large-scale pipelines, ETL, warehouses or data lakes, and schema evolution.

• Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and troubleshooting distributed systems, including performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.

• Track record leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across systems or teams, along with experience in a high-quality engineering environment.

• Startup or startup-like experience is useful. Familiarity with ML infrastructure, model inference, HIPAA-compliant systems, TypeScript, or React is a plus.

• A STEM degree or strong computer science fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $215,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
