Our client is a fast-growing algorithmic trading firm specialising in digital asset options, trading derivatives and spot globally. Every decision they make starts with data, and they’re hiring a senior engineer to take ownership of the infrastructure their trading and technology teams are built on.
The Role
You’ll join the Foundation team, owning the pipelines and stores every other team depends on. You’ll architect the ingest path for exchange and internal trading data, run the streaming layer on Kafka and NATS, and build real-time aggregation and long-term storage across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse and Iceberg. Everything is self-hosted, so you’ll own capacity, retention, schema evolution and failure behaviour end to end.

Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating production data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Rust, or strong C/C++ with appetite to work primarily in Rust.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redpanda, NATS, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse and/or Iceberg, ideally self-hosted.
- Strong distributed systems grounding: consistency, backpressure and failure modes.
- Systems-level thinking with a feel for hardware constraints.
- Background in trading, fintech or another domain where bad data has immediate impact.
- Experience with Grafana or other observability tooling.
- Familiarity with WebSockets, compiler engineering or systems security.
- Own the data platform that research, trading and risk all rely on.
- High autonomy with hard problems owned from concept to production.
- Base plus strong performance bonus, with the opportunity to invest in the trading fund.
