About the Company
Our client is a Series A startup building an AI-native platform that helps consumer brands manage and grow their social communities, pairing autonomous community management with social listening. The product already handles millions of brand conversations every week across a few hundred customers, and new enterprise brands are coming on board weekly. The founding team comes from big-tech product and engineering leadership, and the company is backed by top-tier venture investors.
Founded 2023 · Industry: AI, Ecommerce, Marketing, Consumer
The Role
We're helping our client hire one of their first dedicated infrastructure engineers. You'd take ownership of the systems that keep a fast-growing, high-volume AI platform reliable, while staying hands-on across the stack. This suits someone who's comfortable with large data volumes and ambiguity, and who can get productive quickly without a lot of hand-holding.
What you'll be doing
- Owning reliability and scale for the distributed systems behind high-volume data ingestion and real-time AI agents
- Building and improving ETL pipelines and data infrastructure on AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and ClickHouse
- Working across the stack in Python, TypeScript, or Java on automation, internal tooling, and product features alongside product and design
- Sharing a 24/7 on-call rotation, supporting customers, and leading incident response as new enterprise accounts go live
- Strengthening infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi), CI/CD, and observability so the team can ship quickly and safely
Tech stack: Python, TypeScript, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Pulumi, Postgres, ClickHouse, Turbopuffer, Temporal
Requirements
- At least five years working in site reliability, infrastructure, or platform engineering
- A track record of running production systems in an SRE, infrastructure, platform, or DevOps capacity
- Time spent at a startup within roughly the last four to five years
- A university degree
- Comfort writing real code (Python, TypeScript, or Java) to build automation, tooling, and operational services
- Hands-on depth with AWS or a comparable cloud, plus infrastructure-as-code
- Practical experience with distributed systems and Kubernetes
- Willingness to be in the Palo Alto office four days a week
- Authorization to work in the US, or a visa that can be transferred (new sponsorship isn't available)
Nice to Haves
- You've built an SRE function from scratch, or matured one, at an early-stage or fast-scaling company
Why Join
- Be one of the first dedicated infrastructure engineers and shape how the platform scales
- Work on genuine scale from day one, with millions of conversations moving through the system every week
- Join a newly funded Series A team that's signing enterprise customers every week
- Competitive base, early equity, an annual bonus, and relocation support
