Senior/Staff Product Engineer, Applied AI

About the Role

Join the applied AI team at a Series A industrial staffing and operations technology company. You will bring AI agents into core product workflows and build the backend platform that supports worker sourcing, vetting, matching, and placement.

What You'll Do

• Define how AI agents are applied across product workflows and how the team uses AI-assisted development tools.

• Architect and lead core systems, including real-time matching and automated vetting pipelines.

• Own platform architecture and plan for the company's evolving infrastructure needs.

• Improve backend performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Integrate models and agent systems into production, working across APIs, data models, and deployment infrastructure.

• Partner with technical leadership and product teams on architecture and customer-informed solutions.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience for Senior level, or 7 years for Staff, including end-to-end product ownership in early-stage teams.

• Hands-on experience at a fast-growing startup, delivering products and projects with speed amid ambiguity and cross-functional challenges.

• Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js skills, with experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Experience building and shipping applied AI or agentic products, and using coding agents in day-to-day development.

• Strong product judgment and interest in marketplaces, matching systems, operations-heavy industries, or products for non-technical users.

• Strong technical fundamentals and a track record of sustained contributions in prior roles.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $200,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
