About the Role
Join the applied AI team at a Series A/B industrial workforce technology company to bring AI agents into its staffing marketplace and build the backend platform that supports it. This senior, hands-on role spans product engineering, distributed systems, and production AI, with the opportunity to shape core architecture.
What You'll Do
Apply AI agents and frontier models to automate sourcing, worker vetting, matching, and placement workflows.
Design and lead core backend systems, including real-time matching and AI-enabled vetting pipelines.
Build and maintain scalable platform services, APIs, data models, and deployment infrastructure.
Improve system performance, reliability, and capacity as product needs evolve.
Partner across engineering and product to make architectural decisions and deliver practical solutions for operational users.
What We're Looking For
Typically 5 or more years of software engineering experience for Senior roles, or 7 or more years for Staff roles, with end-to-end product ownership.
Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js skills, including experience with APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and PostgreSQL; familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ is relevant.
Experience shipping AI or agentic products to production, and using coding agents and AI-assisted development tools.
Background building products in a fast-growing startup or early-stage environment, with demonstrated results and comfort operating amid ambiguity.
Strong product judgment and experience working across functions on scalable systems, ideally in applied AI, marketplaces, matching, recruiting, logistics, or other operationally complex domains.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $200,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
