Lead AI / Full-Stack Engineer - Agentic AI

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a senior, hands-on engineer to help build the next generation of enterprise contract-intelligence software.

You will join a small, highly autonomous AI team operating with the speed and ownership of a startup, backed by the resources and customer base of a profitable global enterprise software organization. The team is building production AI agents that transform millions of contracts into actionable business intelligence for some of the world’s largest companies.

This is an opportunity to work directly with the founding team, influence the technical roadmap and own meaningful parts of the product from architecture through production.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Architect, build and deploy production-grade AI agents and LLM applications

- Develop intelligent workflows across backend services, data systems and customer-facing interfaces

- Build agent orchestration, RAG and tool-calling systems using modern AI frameworks

- Work with large collections of structured and unstructured contract data

- Collaborate directly with founders, engineers, product managers and designers

- Translate complex enterprise workflows into intuitive, reliable products

- Establish strong engineering practices around testing, CI/CD, observability and deployment

- Evaluate new models and determine how they can improve product performance

- Influence technical strategy, architecture and product direction

- Operate independently in a fast-moving environment with significant ambiguity and ownership

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

- Significant experience building production AI or machine-learning products

- Strong SaaS startup experience, ideally in an early-stage environment

- Advanced proficiency with Python

- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience

- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React

- Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude or comparable foundation models

- Experience building AI agents using LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar frameworks

- Experience with RAG, tool calling, agent memory and multi-step workflows

- Strong cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP

- Experience deploying systems using Docker and Kubernetes

- Familiarity with LLM evaluation, monitoring, observability and production reliability

- Degree in computer science, software engineering or a closely related technical field

- Ability to work onsite five days per week in either New York City or San Francisco

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience training or fine-tuning machine-learning models

- Founding-engineer or early startup experience

- Experience building enterprise legal, financial or document-intelligence products

- Knowledge-graph or large-scale information-retrieval experience

- Experience working directly with enterprise customers

Work model: Onsite 5 days per week

Compensation: $175,000-$250,000 base salary plus equity
