We're looking for a Software Engineer to build the customer-facing product and the systems behind an AI workspace that runs AI agents at very large scale. You'll work across the full stack, building polished React and TypeScript interfaces and the APIs and backend services that power them. The platform runs thousands of agents at the same time and processes millions of tokens per minute, so reliability and performance matter as much as the user experience. You'll build UI for AI agent research traces, define API contract standards, and help resolve tricky client-server state issues. The engineering team is small and hands-on, so you'll own meaningful parts of the product and the infrastructure underneath it. This role suits an engineer who wants to keep building as an individual contributor rather than move into management.
Details:
Schedule: Full time
Location: San Francisco, United States (Onsite; visa sponsorship, visa transfers, and O-1 sponsorship available)
Start: ASAP
Duration: Long-term
English: Fluent
Type of collaboration: Internal Employment
About the project:
The company is a fast-growing, early-stage AI startup based in San Francisco, building a next-generation workspace for large-scale AI agent orchestration. Its platform lets users run complex AI workflows with thousands of concurrent agents while keeping the experience simple through an intuitive, customer-facing product. The engineering team is small and highly technical, and engineers contribute directly instead of working through layers of management. The company values synchronous, in-person collaboration, and the team works together on-site in San Francisco. The tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, Redis, PubSub, RPC, S3, and Temporal. The team cares more about what you've shipped and how you've grown than about titles or school pedigree.
You have:
- Around 2–5 years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack product engineering experience; React and frontend experience is required
- Strong React and TypeScript skills, plus experience building the APIs and services behind the product
- A track record of building and shipping polished, customer-facing web products in production
- Experience designing and deploying high-traffic products
- Experience as a primary individual contributor on meaningful projects
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with a high level of ownership
- A career path that shows ambition, adaptability, and continued growth
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco
- Nice to have: production experience with Go
- Nice to have: experience with TanStack (Query/Router), WebSockets, or Zustand
- Nice to have: distributed systems experience
- Nice to have: experience shipping high-traffic products at strong tech companies, ideally in both larger engineering organizations and fast-growing startups
- Nice to have: competitive programming or ICPC experience
What to do:
- Design, build, and ship polished customer-facing product experiences with React and TypeScript
- Develop the APIs and backend services that support these experiences
- Build UI for exploring and understanding AI agent research traces
- Debug connectivity between client and server states to improve consistency
- Define models and standards for API contracts
- Help codify team-wide engineering processes and build reusable tooling
- Triage production issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Design, deploy, and maintain high-traffic production systems
