Software Engineer II, Marketplace Infrastructure

About the Role

Join the growth infrastructure team at a Series A AI training data startup. You will build the systems that help source, assess, onboard, and match domain experts to projects, making the expert marketplace more efficient as it scales.

What You'll Do

• Build and own marketplace tools for expert outreach, interviewing, assessment, onboarding, and project assignment.

• Develop systems to manage expert profiles and match people to projects based on fit and availability.

• Automate manual workflows and create internal tools that help the growth team increase operational throughput.

• Partner with growth teammates to identify funnel bottlenecks, measure performance, and deliver improvements.

• Help develop recommendation systems that anticipate project staffing needs and automate matching.

What We're Looking For

• Two to five years of full-stack software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering systems end to end.

• Proficiency with Node.js or Python and Kubernetes; experience with Kafka, Redis, or Elasticsearch is useful.

• Experience building or scaling core infrastructure, ideally in a high-growth startup or marketplace environment.

• A bachelor's degree from a strong university in the US, Canada, or Europe.

• Strong ownership, comfort working closely with operational teams, and interest in growth infrastructure and AI-enabled workflows.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $250,000 to $300,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California. Flexible working hours are expected.
