Software Engineer, Marketplace (Mid-Level)

About the Role

Build the growth infrastructure behind an expert marketplace for an AI training data company. You will partner with the growth team to improve how experts are sourced, assessed, onboarded, and matched to projects, with opportunities to develop recommendation systems over time.

What You'll Do

• Build and own marketplace systems for expert outreach, interviewing, assessments, and onboarding.

• Develop tools to manage experts and match them to projects based on fit and availability.

• Automate manual workflows and create internal tools that help the growth team work more efficiently.

• Work with growth teammates to find funnel bottlenecks, measure performance, and deliver improvements.

• Help develop machine learning-driven recommendations to anticipate project staffing needs.

What We're Looking For

• Two to five years of full-stack software engineering experience and a track record of delivering projects end to end.

• Proficiency with Node.js or Python, Kubernetes, and experience scaling core infrastructure.

• Experience with marketplace or growth infrastructure, ideally at a high-growth startup or in an AI data setting.

• Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, or Elasticsearch is a plus.

• An undergraduate degree from a highly regarded university in the United States, Canada, or Europe.

• Strong ownership, comfort working closely with non-engineering partners, and willingness to work flexible hours.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: $250,000 to $300,000. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California.
